Plainly: it is free, you may use what it produces, and it comes with no guarantee.
What this site is
NumberQuill converts numbers into words and back, converts Roman numerals, writes amounts of money out, and explains the rules behind all of it. It is free to use. There is no account, no subscription and nothing to pay, now or later.
It is operated by Inyonitech Solutions (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa.
What you may do with the results
Anything. The output of these tools — a number written in words, a Roman numeral, an amount for a cheque — is yours to use, print, copy, share, screenshot and publish, for any purpose including a commercial one, with no attribution required. We claim nothing over it.
What you may not do is take the site itself: bulk-copying the reference tables, the article text or the generated pages in order to republish them elsewhere is not permitted. The explanatory writing on this site is ours.
Acceptable use
Use the site normally. Do not attempt to break it, to scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, to introduce anything malicious, or to use it as part of something unlawful.
Suggestions and corrections
If you send a suggestion, a correction or an idea to hello@numberquill.com, you are giving us permission to use it to improve the site, without obligation and without payment. Do not send anything confidential. We will not publish your address.
Other people's trademarks
Microsoft, Excel and VBA are trademarks of Microsoft. Google, Google Sheets and Apps Script are trademarks of Google. The style guides quoted on the reference pages are named as the sources of what they say, and their names belong to their publishers. They are named here only to say which product a formula is for, or where a rule comes from.
NumberQuill is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
No warranty
This site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. The conversions are produced by code that is covered by an automated test suite, and every generated page on the site is checked against that same code when the site is built. That is a good deal better than nothing and it is not a guarantee. We do not warrant that the site is free of errors, that it is available at any particular time, or that it is fit for any particular purpose of yours.
Check anything that matters before you rely on it. An amount on a cheque, a figure in a contract, an answer in an examination — these are yours to verify. See the disclaimer.
The site may change, and it may stop. Tools may be added, altered or withdrawn without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of this site, or of anything it produces. That includes indirect and consequential loss, and it includes loss arising from an error in a conversion.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your rights under the consumer protection law of your own country are not affected by anything written here.

Where this site links elsewhere, that is for your convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away the protections that the mandatory law of your own country gives you.
