This site sets no cookies of its own, and stores two preferences of its own in your browser.

There are none. NumberQuill does not set a cookie of its own for any purpose — not for preferences, not for measurement, not for anything.
What we store on your device
Two preferences are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and we never see them.

Local storage is not a cookie, but the rules that cover cookies in the United Kingdom and the European Union cover it too — it is still information stored on your device. What makes these two permissible without asking you first is that each one holds a preference you set yourself by clicking something, and nothing else.
How to clear them
Clearing your browsing data for this site removes them. In Chrome it is under Settings, “Privacy and security”, “Third-party cookies”, then “See all site data and permissions”, where you can search for this site and delete its data; in Edge under Settings, “Privacy, search, and services”, Cookies, then “See all cookies and site data”; in Firefox under Settings, Privacy & Security, then “Cookies and Site Data”; in Safari under Settings, Privacy, then “Manage Website Data”. Private or incognito windows discard them when you close the window.
The site works with storage blocked. Nothing breaks. You get the defaults — British English and rand — every time you arrive.
Advertising cookies
No advertising script runs on this site at the moment, so no advertising cookie is set by anybody. When advertising is switched on this page will say so first, and this section will name the vendors, link to their opt-outs, and describe how Google asks visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland for their consent.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless. It sets nothing on your device and stores no identifier, which is why it does not appear in the table above. What it does see.
